Oil & Vinegar - Italian Taralli - 200g
$9
Taralli are small, crispy snacks from the Puglia region of Italy. In terms of texture, they resemble a breadstick, but in the shape of a ring.
The origin of the recipe dates back to the 1400s: a time when dry spells were common and hunger could easily strike. Therefore, the inhabitants of Puglia had to become resourceful. They did this by combining products that were always present in every pantry: flour, extra virgin olive oil, salt and white wine. And so the first variations of taralli were born!
Over time, taralli became one of the most famous bread substitutes in Italy and today it is often used as a snack. Perfect for on the drink platter or to serve with soup or salads!
